Fezbot
Project overview: Using the Lego Mindstorms system and at least one sensor, create a device that interacts with people.
Fezbot is a Lego Mindstorms robot, and his purpose in life is to tell you whether or not your coffee is at the appropriate temperature for drinking:

Using a temperature sensor and proximity sensor, Fezbot will 'search' the area for a coffee cup, and then dip his thermometer into the coffee. If the coffee is too hot or too cold, he makes an angry buzz sound. If the coffee is at the appropriate temperature (between 170-180 degrees F) he produces a gleeful beep. After checking, he trucks off in search of another coffee cup to test.
